Earthcare is a Delhi-based production house set up in 1995 by Krishnendu Bose and Madhurima Sen Bose.

KRISHNENDU BOSE is Director, EarthCare Production (P) Ltd and Managing Trustee in EarthCare Outreach Trust. After acquiring a Masters degree in Economics from Delhi School of Economics (1985), he worked for OBM Advertising Agency in Delhi for a short while. In 1988 he went independent, making documentaries on conservation and development politics. Krishnendu has also done a course in Film Appreciation from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.

Along with producing films, he conducts workshops in schools and colleges on understanding environment conservation using films as a medium. Along with colleagues at EarthCare, he has designed and executed exchange programmes between rural communities of India around films made about them. He also is a guest faculty at The School Convergence, a film and media college in Delhi. He is member of the Delhi-Pune based environment activist organisation, Kalpavriksh Environmental Action Group.

Krishnendu was selected by Rockefeller Foundation, USA, for their international training programme on Environment and Development (LEAD - Leadership in Environment and Development) for 1994-97. During this fellowship, Krishnendu read position papers on India’s environment in Costa Rica, Thailand and Zimbabwe.

Krishnendu was invited by Environmental Investigative Agency (EIA), UK, to attend the Elephant conference at Johannesburg in May 1997 and present his film on Asian elephants. In 2004, Krishnendu was invited as a community film expert by LEAD, to participate in a week-long workshop with youth in Togo, West Africa. He was part of an international team to do a scoping exercise for participatory communication around raising awareness for HIV-AIDS. Krishnendu has done a pilot project funded by the Ministry of Environment of Germany – looking at the effectiveness of raising awareness for conservation through films among young people.

MADHURIMA SEN BOSE, Director of EarthCare Productions (P) Ltd, is a major in Physics and started out in 1990 as an independent filmmaker in EarthCare Films. With years of experience in production, soon she branched out into coordinating film projects. Since 1997 she has single-handedly facilitated and planned productions for TV for production houses scattered all over the world. In 2004, she coordinated five one-hour shows for TWI, UK - Road Raja in a one month shoot schedule in Mumbai. She has been an important line producer in the television series The Amazing Race, CBS, USA. Over the seven shows she has been involved in India and Sri Lanka. She lives with her husband Krishnendu Bose and two children in Delhi.
